Project Jetstream
In the world of custom motorcycles, there are simple builds, and then there are statements of style—and the latest creation from Rajputana Customs, called Jetstream, belongs to the second category. This Jaipur-based workshop in India, known for its mastery in metallurgy and iconic designs, took the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 as a base and radically transformed it into a futuristic, minimalist, and aggressive café racer.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, with its 648 cc air-and-oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, served as the ideal platform for this project. However, Rajputana decided not to settle for a simple redesign, opting instead for a complete rebuild from scratch.

Complete Redesign: New Frame and Suspension
The work began by dismantling the original frame, which was replaced with a new hand-built perimeter frame featuring twin tubes and a very narrow, streamlined design. The rear subframe is minimal, integrated with a mono-shock and a tubular swingarm that forms clean curves around the rear axle, giving a dramatic and elegant finish.
The suspension was also reinvented: the front was lowered significantly, with only a two-inch travel, and the rear now has a mono-shock with a progressive-rate spring to improve handling and give it a more sporty, café racer character. The riding position is low and aggressive, with low handlebars and rear-set footpegs.

Handcrafted Bodywork: Minimalism and Precision
The bodywork, a key element of this build, was entirely handcrafted from aluminum, showcasing a minimalist and precise style. The fuel tank, set deep within the frame, features an integrated cap and brushed finish that contrasts with the black frame. The tail ends in a sharp cowl housing the black foam seat, nestled between the subframe tubes.
At the front, a small aluminum fairing surrounds an LED headlight, giving the bike a futuristic and dynamic look even when stationary.

Engine and Exhaust: Performance and Style
The 648 cc parallel-twin engine remains almost intact but has been enhanced with custom velocity stacks that improve throttle response. The exhaust is a handcrafted dual system with stainless steel pipes wrapped in heat tape, ending in angled-cut silencers that deliver a clean and powerful sound.
Wheels and Brakes: Ready for Action

Jetstream features alloy spoked wheels fitted with Pirelli racing slicks for superior grip and a clear focus on road performance. The brakes have been upgraded, and the team has aimed to reduce weight wherever possible.
Electronics and Details
The instrument cluster is a Motogadget Motoscope Mini, with internal wiring for a clean finish. The original Royal Enfield controls are retained as a tribute to the brand, and details like braided lines and matching fasteners reflect the team’s attention to detail and passion.
A New Definition for the Cafe Racer
Jetstream not only redefines the aesthetics of a cafe racer, but also proposes a balance between tradition and modernity, form and function. It is a moving work of art that shows customization can be much more than a change in appearance: it is a statement of style, technique, and philosophy.
