Fran Manen of Lord Drake Kustoms said, during the Bultracker process, that this bike was born out of love, respect, and pride for the famous Bultaco. Once completed, it drew many admirers when it was exhibited at the Brussels International Motor Show.
Fran’s customization work was carried out on a Sportster 1200. When we first saw the project, it was recognizable—as we used to say back then—“by the spoked wheels, the quiet Supertrapp torque with independent outlet, the stylized tank, the pure off-road front fender, the spoked wheels…”
After the success with scramblers like the “Soulbreaker” and “Sportracker,” the owner of LDK wanted to create a new line of scramblers with a more retro look for 2015, and by the end of the year, he began working on it; that’s when the idea of creating a Bultaco Matador-style scrambler called “Bultracker” emerged.
Fran Manen began shaping the project and, midway through, contacted a good friend (Mario Van Den Broeck, owner of Harley-Davidson Capital Brussels in Belgium), who had long wanted to create a scrambler in tribute to the Spanish brand.
When Mario saw the motorcycle, he decided to take over the project to finish it alongside Fran and turn the bike into the “Bultracker Ring 13”: “Bultracker” for Bultaco and “Ring 13” for the location of the H-D dealership in Brussels.
The “Bultracker Ring 13” has ultimately become the result of a collaboration between two major companies, as this first unit of the “Bultracker” served to reach an agreement between both companies for the distribution of Lord Drake Kustoms motorcycles throughout the Benelux region via the H-D Capital Brussels dealership.
The bike was officially presented by Harley-Davidson Capital Brussels at the Brussels International Motor Show and caused a sensation among its thousands of visitors.
There is now a second unit for sale, called the “Bultracker 17,” in blue and silver tones, which was presented and exhibited to the public at Moto Madrid and, of course, has been just as admired as its sister residing in Belgium.
