The BMW R nineT is already a robust and reliable machine, but for the team at Lord Drake Kustoms, it was just a blank canvas waiting for a radical transformation. Their goal was to take this German icon and inject it with a “fighter” character, creating a motorcycle that balances muscle with elegance.
The result is the “Fighting 31,” a BMW R nineT custom that combines the classic spirit of the boxer engine with an aggressive, military-inspired aesthetic and a clearly sporty focus.
Satin Green and Mustard
The most striking feature of this build is undoubtedly its color scheme. Lord Drake Kustoms moved away from standard factory finishes to create something unique. The fuel tank is finished in a Satin Military Green, which gives the bike a tough, utilitarian look.
To break up the green, the team applied mustard yellow details and numbers on the upper part of the tank, creating a sophisticated contrast. This is complemented by blacked-out components—including the engine, chassis, and structural parts—which give the bike a compact and aggressive stance. The custom side logo reinforces the bike’s unique identity, while the mix of matte and satin finishes ensures a contemporary, premium feel.

Refined Rear End
Transforming the silhouette of a stock bike often requires major surgery on the rear, and this custom BMW R nineT is no exception. LDK modified and adjusted the subframe to achieve a cleaner, sportier line.
Sitting on this new rear structure is a monoposto (single-seater) tail unit with an exclusive design. The seat itself is handcrafted and upholstered with a diamond-pattern stitch (rhomboidal) and contrasting seams, adding a touch of luxury to the military theme. A side-mounted license plate holder was installed to keep the rear tire completely visible and reinforce the minimalist aesthetic.

Performance Upgrades
The “Fighting 31” isn’t just about looks; it incorporates modifications to enhance the riding experience. The stock exhaust was replaced with a high-performance sports exhaust, which not only improves the sound of the boxer engine but also sharpens the throttle response.
To further aid breathing and add a “racing character,” a visible sports air filter was installed. The team also tweaked the suspension and technical details to optimize the bike’s dynamic behavior, ensuring it rides as aggressively as it looks.

The Devil in the Details
Lord Drake Kustoms stripped away unnecessary original elements to stylize the entire package. Custom fenders were adapted to fit the new geometry, and the bulky stock turn signals were replaced. The bike now features Motogadget indicators incorporated directly into the handlebar grips (bar-end signals), keeping the lines ultra-clean.

A Modern Fighter
The “Fighting 31” represents the perfect balance between elegance, power, and personality. It transforms a standard naked bike into an authentic modern café racer. As with all builds from Lord Drake Kustoms, this BMW R nineT custom is fully homologated (street legal), proving that radical design doesn’t have to come at the cost of legality or reliability.
