The bustling, stampeding streets of Mumbai, India, offer an intense proving ground for any motorcycle. To survive, a bike needs to be agile; to stand out in a metropolis of millions, it needs to be extraordinary. Aditya and the talented team at Mean Green Customs understood this assignment perfectly when they took delivery of a completely standard BMW R nineT.
Instead of rushing into the teardown, Aditya began with a pen and paper, sketching out the direction until the vision was crystal clear. The result of that meticulous planning is “THRYX,” a custom BMW R nineT Scrambler that trades Bavarian understatement for absolute street presence.
Razor-Sharp Bodywork
The defining physical characteristics of “THRYX” lie in its reimagined bodywork. Mean Green Customs discarded the safe factory lines to create something with far more attitude.

The tank area features three distinct central humps that add sharp, aggressive right angles to the top of the bike. Moving backward, the tail terminates in a razorblade-like rear section, ensuring the motorcycle ends with a very deliberate, sharp statement. Down below, a custom belly pan was fabricated to visually tie the front and rear of the motorcycle together, giving this BMW R nineT a grounded, muscular stance.
The Burnt Orange Glow
A bold design requires an equally audacious color palette. The team opted for an ultra-glossy burnt orange finish that reflects light with ferocity from every angle.
To define the new lines, gloss black was added to the knee dent sections of the tank. The rest of the chassis was treated to a mix of black and gunmetal grey finishes. This was a calculated aesthetic choice: the dark chassis visually shrinks into the background, allowing the vibrant orange main elements to take center stage.

Urban Ergonomics and Sound
While the aesthetic is radical, the riding position remains highly usable for navigating city traffic. Mean Green kept the inherent scrambler ergonomics but fitted a set of more upright handlebars to provide the rider with extra leverage when wrestling the bike through crowded streets.
The soundtrack of this Custom BMW R nineT Scrambler matches its looks. The front section of the exhaust is neatly routed under the seat, before terminating in a pair of custom, side-by-side “shotgun” pipes. In a brilliant nod to their Indian heritage, the exhaust features custom-machined end caps with a stunning copper look.

Ready for the Streets
To get the power to the pavement, the team wrapped the wheels in a set of Pirelli dual-sport tires, ensuring the bike has the grip to handle unpredictable urban terrain.
A Bold Statement
Mean Green Customs has taken one of the most popular modern donor bikes and injected it with undeniable zest. “THRYX” proves that with careful planning and a fearless approach to color and shape, the often-understated German boxer can be transformed into a machine that absolutely commands attention.
